The steelpan (also known as the steel drum or pan) is a melodic percussion instrument which was invented in the beautiful twin island Republic of Trindad & Tobago around the 1930’s. The instrument still serves as the national instrument of the country and is regarded as the only fully chromatic and acoustic instrument to be invented in the 20th century.
